裴宜理教授简介：

Elizabeth J. Perry (裴宜理) is the Henry Rosovsky Professor of Government at Harvard University and the Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute. She is the author of more than twenty books on modern Chinese history and politics. Her most recent book, Anyuan: Mining China’s Revolutionary Tradition (安源：发掘中国革命之传统) is forthcoming in a Chinese translation from the University of Hong Kong Press.

讲座内容简介：

In recent years, there has been much emphasis on the globalization of higher education, with great attention to the rankings of so-called “top world universities” . Governments and universities in both China and the United States have expressed enthusiasm for this project. The positive effect of the increased globalization of higher education seems obvious: students and scholars today enjoy unprecedented opportunities for communication and collaboration with their counterparts around the world. But there are also some deeply troubling aspects of this process. Higher education is becoming increasingly standardized and commercialized. Professor Perry’s talk draws on Chinese and American (as well as Indian) experiences to raise questions about contemporary developments.
