To effectively advance the implementation of the “National Excellent Teacher Training Initiative” (NETTI), Tsinghua University actively applied for and was approved to establish a Master of Education (M.Ed.) professional degree program in September 2024. NETTI graduate students pursuing non-education graduate degrees who complete the required credits and successfully defend their degree theses will be awarded a Master of Education degree. Leveraging Tsinghua University’s strengths of science and engineering, this program is dedicated to cultivating outstanding science teachers for primary and secondary schools in China, especially high-level middle schools. The goal is to nurture educators who possess deep educational commitment, exceptional professional competence, solid teaching fundamentals, outstanding capabilities in education, teaching, and research, and demonstrate potential to become leading talents in basic education.
